In 1991, Clay Hill Farm became the first and only restaurant in the country to be nationally certified as a wildlife habitat and bird sanctuary. A long history of eco-friendly land care and respect for Maine's natural resources, earned Clay Hill Farm recognition from the state in the Environmental Leadership program. Clay Hill Farm is one of the first businesses in Southern Maine to be a certified Environmental Leader. Home of The Green Wedding Giveaway®, Clay Hill Farm's annual contest that encourages engaged couples to explore the parallel of a commitment to each other and a commitment to the earth. This $40K contest is not a measurement of green, rather a creative exploration of and explore how green can, could or does motivate real people to make a real difference in the world.
