Corey Pro Photography is owned and operated by international wedding photographer, Benjamin L. Corey who specializes in a signature blend of classic and photojournalistic approaches to wedding photography.
As Corey describes it:
"I often tell clients to imagine that someone from the history channel will be spending your wedding day with you in order to create a visual documentary of the moments, memories, and emotions of the day. Yet, the artistic side of me isn't content with this approach alone; I also want to capitalize on the location, the couple, and my own creativity by setting aside some 'one-on-one' time to capture the carefully crafted images that make you say "wow".
However, even beyond wedding photography, Corey is one of the few philanthropic photographers in the country who use a successful photography business as a springboard to charitable work. For each wedding client served, Corey Pro is able to utilize a partnership with Thirst Relief International to install a bio sand water filter in an impoverished community around the world, providing clean drinking water to an entire community for many years. Corey is also a co-founder of the nonprofit, Arusen, aimed at education and prevention of human trafficking, as well as enabling Dalit women in India to generate sustainable incomes for their families. In late 2011, Corey will be traveling to India to shoot a photo documentary on the issue of human trafficking as well as establishing safe-houses for children rescued out of trafficking (slavery). In September, he will also be co-sponsoring a human trafficking education conference for first responders in New England.
While he shoots all over the world (in 2010 he set foot in 8 countries), Corey makes his home in Boston's North Shore, and is a New England native. He lives with his wife Tracy, his Puerto Rican rescue dog, Saige, and is a soon-to-be Dad to his "Peruvian Princesses" Julissa and Johanna, through the miracle of adoption.
Corey holds undergraduate degrees in Science & Technology, Business, and holds a Master of Arts degree from Gordon-Conwell.
His publication history includes bridal magazines, beauty magazines, the New York Times, Boston Globe, and National Geographic online. He is also a member of the Professional Photographers of America, the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, and Wedding & Portrait Photographers International.
