I would love to help you pull off a wedding day that's fun, meaningful and reflects YOU as a couple.
For over 25 years, I've officiated weddings that couples have come away saying,
“It’s exactly what we wanted.” “You made everything understandable.” “Your words reflected the fact that you took some time to get to know us as a couple.”
I'll help you with all the details of the wedding ceremony itself, the rehearsal and any other matters needed so that you can simply enjoy the most important day of your life...YOUR Wedding Day!
Wedding days are wonderful celebrations. Tons of energy, time and money go into them. Once the wedding day is over, then the day-to-day reality of working out the relationship takes over. Sometimes the romance can fade out of the marriage relationship as responsibilities, mortgages, children and more take their toll on a couple.
My philosophy is to go into a marriage with eyes wide open to the realities that will face a couple and give tools to help make marriage work great and keep romance alive.
I suggest that every couple invest in two pre-marriage appointments with me prior to the wedding. At those meetings, we’ll plan the wedding, take some time so I can get to know you both, and discuss together the strengths you have going for you as a couple.
I have been the senior pastor of Community Covenant Church in El Cajon, California since 1990. Prior to that, I was a high school teacher and an Area Director for Young Life. I've been married for 27 years and have three grown children.
I love the ocean, surfing, tennis, and any water sports. I listen to ESPN radio, music from the 60’s and 70’s, and I love movies.
I'm an ordained minister, with a B.A, a Master of Arts in New Testament a second Master of Divinity degree, a Teaching Credential, and am certificated in Spiritual Direction.
I believe that God created the idea of two people committing to a lifetime love relationship. That comes with many ups and downs; bumps and bruises. Sometimes there isn’t enough love within each person to sustain that relationship, so I believe that a marriage relationship, with God in middle of it, has an even greater chance for an ever-deepening, growing partnership that will last for the long haul.
But, I will not push the “God-thing” on you. It is up to the couple how much of any faith expression is desired. I will be sensitive to where you're at and design the wedding according to your wishes.
