Working between his homes in La Jolla and on Martha's Vineyard, David's enjoys a reputation for consistently delivering remarkably intimate and sensitive photojournalism and fine-art portraiture.
Of equal or greater importance, David has a reputation for setting people at ease.
He recently covered the "hush-hush" wedding of Warner Brothers' "Smallville" star Tom Welling.

Max welcomes location and fashion portraiture assignments, event photography of all kinds (including a limited number of weddings and corporate functions).
He and his associates are happy to be La Jolla's only professional studio offering multi-format still photography and digital video production under one roof.

David's directorial debut, the feature film "Severance" (1988), received an invitation to appear in Italy at the Florence Feature Film Festival.
It was subsequently picked up for international distribution by Fox/Lorber Associates, Inc. He was signed with the prestigious William Morris Agency.
Preferring work behind the camera, David left the Morris agency and moved to Los Angeles where he photographed features for Menachem Golan and Yoram Globus of Cannon Films. He joined I.A.T.S.E 644 Director of Photography working of a project with Abe Vigoda, Sherman Helmsley and Champion Joe Frazier (directed by Nick Staglioni).
Music video credits involve projects for Prince, Roxy Music, Lee Ritenour, Diamond Rio, and Miles Davis.
