We are absolutely delighted to introduce you to our independent, microbrewery, Eden Brewery and its fantastic new range of small batch craft beers, lovingly produced in St Andrews, Scotland.
Based in the home of golf, this specialist microbrewery is Scotland's new best kept secret. Located on the beautiful banks of Eden Estuary in Fife.
Interestingly, our brewery site in St Andrews, has a long history of brewing and distilling. For most of the 19th century, the Haig Family operated a whisky distillery here. In 1860, they started distilling whisky elsewhere in Fife, and turned the site into a brewery and paper mill. Around this time, St Andrews itself had 91 registered brewers. The brewery at the estuary closed in 1882, and not long after in 1902, the last brewery in St Andrews ceased trading. St Andrews then endured a period of 110 years with no local brewery, until Eden started up like a phoenix from the flames, re-igniting Fife's brewing industry.
Our eclectic range takes you on a journey, from the increasingly popular golden IPAs, to the oak wood beers, which have been conditioned in whisky casks from Perthshire's Edradour and Strathearn distilleries. Each label has a story to tell about the site's history, local area or provenance of the oak barrels.
Come and visit us here at the brewery and let us take you through the history of the site, brewing process and a tasting of 6 beers at the end of the tour with fantastic tasting notes on each beer.
We offer tours 7 days a week and booking is essential. Big groups and evening tours are welcome.
