The historic La Fonda de Taos, nestled on the west side of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range, dates back to the time when Spanish settlers first arrived here 400 years ago. In 1820 the first “La Fonda” (Spanish for “the Inn”) was opened in the form of a mercantile store that also rented rooms; this same location is where you can find our hotel today.
