Jim Perona - Classical Guitarist

My journey as a classical/acoustic/electric guitarist began in the fall of 1996, when I started taking guitar lessons with blues/jazz guitarist Tom Castonzo. My studies with Tom, a frequent performer, bandleader and teacher in Chicago, lasted for many years and covered various aspects of different musical genres. Throughout this time, I co-founded the hard rock band Dream Haven, which performed with notable acts such as Mastodon and Enuff Z'nuff. In 2003, Dream Haven released an EP entitled "Nostalgia is Five Frame." In 2002, I started performing in pit orchestras for various musicals such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Misérables, The Wiz, Little Shop of Horrors, and Seussical the Musical. I am now accepting bookings for all kinds of events including weddings, receptions, , private parties, events and more. With a performance repertoire spanning over 500 years of music from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th-century eras, there will always be music setting a beautiful tone to your event. I have performed at concert halls, weddings, receptions, bridal showers, private events, restaurants, libraries, schools, churches, and more. Clients have raved over the convenient aspects of having a solo classical musician perform at their function for a number of reasons, including:

1. Cost. You won't cut a big check to split among a string quartet or big band...just me!
2. Portability. It's just me and my guitar (and a P.A. if necessary), so I can easily move from the cocktail room to the dinner room, for example.
3. Volume. You can be sure that the music volume will be loud enough to hear and enjoy, yet soft enough to have a comfortable conversation from 10 feet away.
