About Us

My background is in painting and documentary photography. I have a BFA from Alfred University, School of Art and Design. While I continue to paint for fun, photography has become my main focus in the past 10 years. I've always been incredibly observant; as a child I was often scolded for my "staring problem" or "daydreaming". I believe that constant observation of the world around me has strengthened the interpretation I offer in my /images today. I've photographed everything from rural America to the runways of NYC. Whether it's a little girl playing in her front lawn, a bride on the most exciting day of her life, or a model on the catwalk, I have an incredible passion for capturing moments in time, which has developed in to a fulfilling career allowing me to celebrate life one frame at a time.

Kim is amazing!! She was so talented, so much fun. Recommended highly. We will miss her! -Karen & Greg

Kim was great! Very flexible and took fantastic pictures! She had a ton of really cool ideas and walked the fine line of artistic and classic. She was also really easy going and fun to work with. We were really happy with her! -Chris & Carla

"I was so happy with Kim Praast photography! From her professionalism, her humor, to her photography style...my family and I were so pleased."

"I have worked as an event planner and also as the studio manager for a successful fashion photographer in NYC. At work, I have hired many event photographers and I've poured over thousands of images making selects & editing for ad campaigns, cover stories, etc. With that experience, I can say Kim stands above much of the competition in her field and she has a knack for capturing moments that many strive for but often lack. We would (and already have!) recommend Kim to any engaged couple looking to document their wedding day. Thank you Kim!"

"Kim Praast is a talented artist as well as a pragmatic, customer service oriented professional. I don?t know how she wears both hats so well, but she does! From the initial phone call I was comfortable with her, which is imperative when choosing the person you have alongside you at every moment of one of the most amazing days of your life!"
