About Us

A living history museum, Landis Valley is a nineteenth-century Pennsylvania German crossroads village. The site includes historic buildings and barns set on over 100 acres of trees, gardens and working farms, with animals whose lineage goes back centuries. It's a superb and serene environment for any group event.

For weddings, it's the perfect place for photographs of your memorable occasion in a natural setting with a unique backdrop. Arrive at your event in a White Vis-a-`vis horse-drawn carriage; then entertain your guests in the Yellow Barn surrounded by tiny white lights interlaced in gorgeous wooden arches and a high ceiling..

Have your cocktail reception and ceremony in the lovely grassy courtyard, just behind the Yellow Barn. Enjoy creating your own unique reception with your choice of caterer, set-up and decorations. Save money with bringing in your own alcohol and choosing vendors within your budget. You can also have your rehearsal dinner in the 1856 Historic Landis Valley House & Tavern.

The Yellow Barn was built in 1939 with timber framing from the earlier 1814 Brick Farmstead barn. With a capacity for 200 people in 2,880 square feet, the barn is beautifully decorated with hundreds of white twinkle lights laced around the wooden columns and draped across the ceiling beams giving it a warm and elegant glow. The rental of the barn includes a large covered stable that is ideal for your buffet and bar and also provides a working area for the caterer. Heated in the winter the barn is available March - December; fans are provided in the summer. Our events can take place from 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM with additional time allowed for set-up and clean up.

Our Firehouse building holds 100 for a reception and you can hold your ceremony outside; either behind, in front of, or next to the building. The Firehouse offers a beautiful open room with high ceilings and a gorgeous wooden floor, perfect for dancing. It offers a triple refrigeration unit in the back area for your convenience. Behind the Firehouse is a grassy picnic area which is also included.

Landis Valley Museum is rated a “must see” by AAA, and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places with the status “of national significance.”
