The Monarch Trio consists of Polly Meyerding, flutist, Russell Dedrick, flutist, and Laura Handler on cello.
We play music ranging from beautiful Baroque favorites, such as Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, to popular Irish tunes and Beatles standards. The two flutes have a sweet sound that need to be heard to be appreciated. The deep resonant cello sound is the perfect accompaniment to the lyrical flutes.

The Arabesque Trio brings together three very different but wonderfully complementary instruments and tone colors. From the silvery flute to the sonorous cello and the unique beauty of the harp played by Andrea Stern, the Arabesque Trio is sure to please you and your guests.
The trio plays a variety of styles of music -- from Baroque and Classical favorites such as Bach and Mozart to the French moods of Debussy, from traditional Celtic airs to modern favorites from Broadway and Hollywood -- we have something for everyone!
Laura and Andrea have played with chamber groups and orchestras all over the world and are busy freelance musicians here in the Twin Cities area.
For cocktail-type or smaller receptions, a variety of Duos are available. The Monarch Duo combines flute and cello, the Lyric Duo, flute and harp. The Dedrick Flute Duo consists of Husband & Wife Russell Dedrick and Polly Meyerding make up this talented duo.
Russell and Polly met in New York City where they studied with the same flute teacher. They have been married over 20 years, and feel that they bring good luck to weddings!
Russell Dedrick was Solo Piccolo and Assistant Principal Flute in the Orquesta del Estado de Mexico, in Toluca, Mexico, for two seasons. Locally, he has performed with the Minnesota Orchestra, VocalEssence (Plymouth Festival Orchestra), Symphony of the Lakes, Dale Warland Singers, Minneapolis Chamber Symphony, Bach Society, Schubert Club, Thursday Musical, and many other orchestras and chamber music groups.
Polly Meyerding, a native of Saint Paul, Minnesota, earned her Bachelor degrees in Flute Performance and Music Education at the University of Minnesota and the Master of Music degree and Performer's Certificate at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. She has studied with many outstanding flutists of our era, including Thomas Nyfenger, Bonita Boyd, Julia Bogorad-Kogan and Sidney Zeitlin. She has had lessons or participated in master classes with Marcel Moyse, Julius Baker, Keith Underwood, Michael Parloff, Adam Kuenzel, Barbara Leibundguth, and others.
Polly has performed in the Spoleto USA Festival in South Carolina; the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy; the Schlosse Spiele Festival in Heidelberg, Germany; and has toured in France with a professional flute choir. Locally, she has played with the Minnesota Orchestra, Minnesota Opera, VocalEssence (formerly Plymouth Festival Orchestra), Bach Society, Minnesota Dance Theatre, Minnesota Composers Forum, Symphony of the Lakes, Dale Warland Singers, Evita, Schubert Club, Thursday Musical, and numerous other large and small ensembles.
