I have been photographing weddings for 7 years and have been selected four times by the editors of New York Magazine as one of "New York's Best" wedding photographers. I work mostly in the NYC area, but have traveled to weddings in the Hamptons, Napa vineyards, on the Maine coast, farms in the Catskills and Berkshires and even a tiny private island off the Connecticut shore.
My goal at every wedding is to tell the story of the day by emphasizing relationships between people. My working style is both casual and tireless as I blend in with the guests, enjoying the spirit of the day and shooting all the while. I like to use a wide array of cameras and films and can suit many different tastes working with Polaroid film at some jobs, and also incorporating panoramic cameras, digital cameras and of course, conventional color and BW film. My background is in documentary work and journalism, and I have degrees in cultural anthropology from Princeton (BA '90) and Columbia (PhD '01). I am happy working with all sorts of people, and hope to work with you to create a warm, meaningful, natural and beautiful record of your wedding.
