Capitol Hill's Local Bakery
North Hill Bakery is a small neighborhood bakery in the heart of Capitol Hill, specializing in a variety of baked goods to include croissants, brioche, bread, danish, special occasion cakes, cookies and other treats reminiscent of childhood. The bakery uses wholesome ingredients and traditional scratch baking methods to create products that taste as good as they look. The cozy cafe represents a second place (from home), where a busy baking environment invites patrons to engage with the space.
In 2000, Margaret Rumpeltes and Tracey Peterson opened North Hill Bakery in Capitol Hill's historic district. Intent on perserving the skilled art of baking, as well as the tradition of a neighborhood bakery at the location, these two bring with them over twenty years of baking experience. The space North Hill occupies is steeped in over 50 years of baking history. Evidence of bakers past are displayed throughout and inspire customers to recall the bakery they knew when they were young.
