Generally I do a simple but nice Christian wedding ceremony, but I also have a very tasteful non-religious ceremony that I use for those who want something secular. I have been doing weddings for over 20 years as a way to support myself and family, as well as the nursing home ministry and community outreach of my church. Price and availibility are the 2 most asked questions, but it is even more important to be sure the minister is a real one, to be sure your marriage is legal. Future issues like insurance or Social Security need to be considered. Everyone has an ordination from somewhere, but do they have a local church they conduct services at or can they put you in touch with a church that they used to pastor? My fee is very reasonable and there are some examples of it on my website revhary.com There are no extra charges for travel, etc. I do my best for each couple and focus on the love they have for one another. Other than couples being heterosexual, I do not require counseling sessions or joining my church, and I try to make things easy by discussing particulars of the wedding through e-mails or on the phone. This way people don't have to take off from work or make a big trip. Afterwards, I give each couple a booklet entitled "Building Blocks to a Strong Marriage" for when the wedding is over and the marriage begins.
