A truly unforgettable setting for weddings and rehearsal dinners, the world-famous Shadowbrook restaurant is nestled on the banks of Soquel Creek in Capitola-by-the-Sea, just a quick stroll from the picturesque village and beach and almost entirely hidden at the base of a steep, beautifully landscaped hillside. Its romantic ambiance and unique location has made the Shadowbrook a favorite setting for memorable occasions for almost 60 years.
Shadowbrook is best reached by its own quaint hillside "cable car" or by meandering down one of the winding paths through palm trees, brightly colored flowers, rushing waterfalls and Koi filled ponds. Upon reaching the main entrance of the restaurant, a hidden treasure of Old World charm and grace awaits. The building, originally built in the 1920s as a cozy log cabin summer home, now consists of six distinctly different dining rooms and three patios that flow down the hill in tiers toward Soquel Creek. Along the way, the views of gardens, woods and the quietly flowing creek add a dimension that is rarely found in one location.
Shadowbrook offers a choice of unique reception areas, some of which can be combined for larger events. The rooms themselves have their own individual charm. The Fireside Room, which dates back to 1947 and has never been remodeled, still has a rustic feel with the original large stone fireplace, redwood walls and craftsman-style lighting fixtures. The Greenhouse Room is filled with plants and light, d
