Seven years ago, when we started Studio This Is, we didn’t have ambitions of being wedding photographers. Many of us were involved in commercial photography, portraiture, fine art, and design. However, when we looked at the photography industry as a whole we saw the biggest need for improvement in the wedding field. We noticed that more and more couples were spending a significant amount of time on their invitations, flowers, and venue to make it something original and unique, but many weddings did not have the same quality of coverage to document the amount of time and effort that went into the event.
We found that there was a beautiful bride: an amazing dress, hair, makeup; and a fabulous venue... why not treat it like any other stylized photo shoot that we had done before? Why aren’t photographers scouting locations for weddings like they do with other commercial shoots? Why aren’t photographers using the same quality equipment and creativeness in wedding photography as they do fashion photography? Why do people cringe when they hear someone say “wedding photographer?” These were some of the questions that led to the work that you can see here.
Studio This Is now proudly offers wedding films! We are delighted to give you another coverage option that is just as exciting as the photographs we are known for. Our process with our film making is very similar to the way we undertake photography.
Your videographer will location scout with the photographer and work closely with them in the planning stages to ensure they are both on the same page for what they will be capturing the day of your wedding.
