About Us

'Like clarified honey, her voice combines a hearty sweetness and a welcome translucence, and they enjoy a complimentary balance'
- NEIL TESSER, Author, 'The Playboy Guide to Jazz' and Host of NPR's Jazz Review, Listen Here.

With over ten years experience swinging in and around Chicago and the Midwest, The Elaine Dame Quartet creates an elegant, sophisticated ambience, all the way from cocktails to dinner to toe-tapping, upbeat jazz classics for dancing. These jazz standards from the 1920's to the 1960's suit people of all ages and musicals tastes. In addition, we will take any request, learn special or favorite tunes at no extra charge to you, and meet with you personally to go over all your needs and concerns for the event. And Elaine plays the flute as well at no extra cost to you! Here's what some satisfied clients said about The Elaine Dame Quartet:

"Elaine Dame is outstanding! She set the perfect mood for our wedding...from the background music during hors-d'oeuvres to dancing after dinner. The music was fantastic and we received many compliments from our guests. I would recommend Elaine to anybody looking to add a level of class and elegance to their wedding."
~Christi and Massimo Gaido

"I have had the privilege of seeing Elaine perform in person many times...in fact, she was the singer at our wedding. Elaine is simply wonderful!"
~April and John Gap

"Beginning with my first interaction with Elaine, I was continually impressed by her warmth and professionalism. But most of all I was absolutely blown away by her talent! Her voice is clear and strong and beautiful and I know that our wedding was a delight due largely in part to the ambience that Elaine helped create. Booking Elaine Dame for our wedding was honestly one of the smartest decisions I made and certainly the best investment. Years from now, my husband and I may not remember the food we served or the flowers, but I am sure that the memory of walking down the aisle to Elaine singing "Over the Rainbow" will stay with us. Thank you, Elaine, for making our wedding so beautiful and memorable."

Praise for "Comes Love," Dame's debut recording on Chicago's own blujazz label:

It was the most added CD on The College Music Journal Jazz Chart, was one of the top 100 CD's in the US on the Jazz Week NPR Radio Jazz Chart, and was played on over 200 radio stations in the US and Canada.

"Her joy in the act of singing is obvious throughout the entirety of "Comes Love." Dame combines a freshness of approach with an unaffected fondness for the music she sings. The result is a clear-eyed approach to her material that remains accessible to a broad cross section of listeners, potentially enlarging the audience for jazz."

"Blessed with such purity of sound that clarions could take lessons, Dame expresses wide open honesty, and her clarity is matched note for note by her imagination."

"Dame's first CD is very smooth and stylish. Every track is note perfect. She has an intimate, personal style and interpretation is clearly her forte, she shapes a song like she's been singing it for years. Dame delivers the perfect twists and turns on every phrase, swinging from a whisper to a husky wail with confidence and panache."
