Always a perfectionist who believes that anything worth doing is worth overdoing, Susan Leitner has taken classes from well-known cake designers Earlene Moore, Nicholas Lodge, Colette Peters, Debbie Brown, Ron Ben Israel, and Lori Ann Blethen. She is a graduate of the baking and pastry program at the Professional Culinary Institute in Campbell, California. Susan is passionate about using select ingredients to create innovative, exciting treats that are as beautiful as they are delicious. She is a member of ICES and the San Francisco Bakers Dozen.
While striving to produce cakes, pastries, and confections comparable to the very best found anywhere, Susan's particular passion is to make them kosher. Everything is created in her specially designed commercial kitchen, under the stringent supervision of the Vaad Hakashrus of Northern California (and inspected, of course, by the California Department of Environmental Health.)
An important core value of The Eloquent Oven's business philosophy is the desire to share in the life of its community. In 2012 we were privileged to participate in Hillel of Silicon Valley's Passover Wine tasting and Jewish Family Services "Small Plates, High Spirits and All that Jazz." For the opening of Environmental Volunteers' new EcoCenter in Palo Alto we created a cake that looked like their new building! We look forward to seeing you at future community events!
