The Lark is extremely well situated in the heart of West Bloomfield Township, an exclusive suburb of Detroit with the highest proportion of lakes of any area of the country outside of northern Minnesota. The Lark is a free standing architectural award winning country inn with gardens, trees and ponds, sheltering Canada geese, mallard ducks, mourning doves and other wildlife. The overall theme is a sophisticated European-style country inn including tuxedoed waitpeople, walled garden viewed through the dining room windows, fountain, outdoor tables in season, outdoor grill, grape trellis, and garden grown herbs, vegetables and fruit. The decor is that of an elegant southern European Country Inn with terra cotta walls adorned with Portuguese tile murals and elaborate tiled restrooms. Cuisine is eclectic and distinctive with French cooking techniques.
