About: The St Louis Big Band features Frank Sinatra/ Michael Buble style
vocalist Dave Gill & rock vocalist Matt McCallie. The St Louis Big Band is
perfect for weddings, private events, dances & concerts. A few of their
many influences include Michael Buble, The Glen Miller Orchestra, and The Blues
Brothers. Maintaining an active schedule of recording and performing The St
Louis Big Band plays everything from The Glenn Miller Orchestra to The Black
Eyed Peas, all with their own trademark 24 piece sound. Set lists can be fully
customized from your choice of over 500 songs. The St Louis Big Band has
performed at numerous venues in the St.
Louis area including St. Louis Union Station, area
country clubs, & Robbie's House of Jazz. In December of 2011 the St. Louis
Big Band will make its debut performance at the fabulous Casa Loma Ballroom.

Ryan Sheehan - Director: Saxophonist, clarinetist and band leader Ryan Sheehan
is currently a music student at the Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Arts at WebsterUniversity where he studies saxophone
under the instruction of Michael Karpowicz. He has previously studied under Dr.
Michael Dean at the Holland School of Visual and Performing Arts at SoutheastMissouriStateUniversity. Ryan is in
his fifth season with the Compton Heights Concert Band under the direction of
Edward Dolbashian. As a member of The Compton Heights Concert Band he has
performed at Powell Symphony Hall and in the annual concert series "Sunday
Serenades & Musical Mondays." Since the age of 16 Ryan has lead,
arranged for, and performed in countless ensembles in the St
Louis and Southeast Missouri
areas. Professional affiliations include The International Clarinet Association
and The National Association for Music Education. When not performing Ryan
enjoys visiting the country and recreational activates such as water skiing.
Jeff Riley - Alto Saxophone & Winds: Saxophonist Jeff Riley, born in 1978,
was raised in Ohio and graduated from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of
Music with a Bachelor of Music performance in jazz studies. He earned a
teaching certificate before moving to Illinois
to be a Band Director where he encouraged improvisation for beginner students
and led marching bands to numerous first places. His first album, Jeff Riley
Jazz Suite, was released in 2011 and features a 10-piece big band exhibiting
unique compositions which include abstract melodies, thick harmonies, and
meaningful lyrics through jazz, funk and reggae and featuring outstanding
musicians from around the country. He has continued to perform around the Midwest for 15 years and has contributed to dozens of big
bands, jazz combos and R&B groups like the O'Jays.
Dr. Don Cook, Sr. - Baritone Saxophone: Born in Memphis, Tennessee,
it was there that Don developed his musical tastes and interests while
listening to Hank Crawford and Ben Branch and performing in the Manassas High
School Band and in his own band for a variety of groups and activities. Don
also performs with the orchestra for New Sunny Mount Baptist Church choirs and
has performed with the Jazz Edge Orchestra for 21 years as an alto, tenor and
baritone saxophone player in performances with artists such as Frank Foster,
Clark Terry, Melton Mustafa, Lester Bowie, Wallace Roney, Geri Allen, Jimmy
Wilkins, James Moody, Hugh "Peanuts" Whalum, Ed Shaughnessy, Oliver
Nelson, Jr., Frank Wess, Jackie Terrason, The Cunninghams, Chuck Berry and Hal
Singer. He has also served as grant writer, contract manager and pay master for
the Jazz Edge Orchestra. Don also performed with Genesis, Harris Stowe Jazz
Band, Knights of Swing and the Legend Singers. Don has a Doctorate of Education
Degree in Higher Education Administration from Saint
LouisUniversity, a
Master of Ed. Degree in Music from the University
of Missouri at Columbia
and a Bachelor of Music Ed. Degree from LincolnUniversity.
