I like to meet with the engaged couple at least twice. At the first meeting we will discuss what it is you would like said at the wedding service. Do you want to use the language specific to your religious tradition? Do you want to include symbols and liturgy that speaks to your heritage--for example, the tying of the lazo, which is specific to traditional Mexican weddings, or the signing of the Katuba, which is specific to traditional Jewish weddings? Or, are you a more adventuresome couple, wanting to craft your own vows, or using contemporary language and symbols? We will talk about how to go about securing a wedding license. We can also talk some about details which may seem extraneous to the wedding service itself. I know musicians, and florists I am happy to recommend. If you have a wedding planner, I am happy to work with her and will contact her in advance of your wedding to make sure that we share the same vision for your big day.
At our second meeting, a few weeks before the wedding, I will show you what I have come up with as regards your service. At that time, we can nail down specifics.
I will lead the rehearsal and of course, the day of I will be present to make sure that your wedding is everything you hoped it would be--an event to be remembered all the days of your lives.
I also offer elopement packages for those couples who want a simple affair with a small number of family and friends gathered--perhaps taking advantage of Charlottesville's lovely mountain views or the comforts of home.
