Tonight, Mr Wayne Sean Fowles did a brave, brave thing and in front of the entire church, asked me to marry him. He specially asked Deborah (DGFC Pastor) if he could do it after the service. Wayne informed me that Deborah had asked him to give a 5 minute testimony because tonite was a membership evening - of course I bought this, a very convincing story, lol. So Wayne went in early to setup at the church whilst I joined a friend for coffee.

Wayne had prepared a slideshow in advance, along with a life story of our relationship and even convinced Ewan to go in early to help him prepare and to video tape the occasion, hehe. The only hint I had gotten that Wayne had anything up his sleeve was that he kept asking me where my photos were and I know that Wayne usually has little interest in photos on a personal basis, considering that he has to work with images all day, lol.

Wayne gave an endearing account of the past 4 years that we have spent together and I don't think there was a single person who he didn't leave teary eyed. It was all really unexpected though, I've known for some time that it was coming, but I had no idea when. When Wayne stood up to talk, Brigs invited me to come and sit next to her, rather than sit behind the laptop for his "testimony" - I was on data projector duty tonight. Wayne asked Justin to take over on the sound desk, and asked him to play a CD for him. From the moment our song played, the one from Shrek, "Rufus Wainwright - Hallelujah", I knew that he was going to ask. Not even Wayne made it the whole way through his speech without crying and when Wayne choked out, "Kristy, will you marry me?", I instantly answered, "Yes, Bob!" Since Wayne's handle is "Brother Bob", this was pretty apt, especially considering that we met online. I know it was not very romantic on my part, but like I said to Wayne, I think I had been waiting so long to say "Yes!" that I just blurted it out, hehe. I got up and met him in the aisle and he went down on one knee and placed the ring on my finger, remarking, "Oh good, it fits!" as he did, lol.

The ring is really gorgeous, it was a diamond from my late great aunt Ruth that Wayne had reset, a 2.19 carat diamond. Wayne added to it a sapphire and a 0.1 carat diamond on each side. The rest of the ring is white gold - since I'm not partial to gold and the jeweller did not recommend platinum as apparently it does not mould to your finger over time the way other metals do. I will attach a photo of the ring to go with this entry.

As only the gamers out there will understand - I've just been OWNED !!! ;)
