After spending the better part of a year and more money than you ever imagined, it might seem a little silly to just pack up your dress and move on after your wedding. It was a huge moment for you and your honey, and a pretty darn incredible party. So here are a few ideas to keep the memories of your wedding around (without having to take that dress out of storage).
First, depending upon your favors, order a few extra for the two of you. Granted, the last thing you need is 20 bags of candy-coated almonds, but if your favors are practical or more permanent, go for it! For example, keep those cute matchbooks around for a laugh each time you go camping, hang your porcelain heart favors from a pretty plant, or line planters with embossed clay marbles.
Second, repurpose as much of your wedding decor as you can. Those frames you used for your Instagram hashtag sign? Use it for photos from the big day! The ring bearer's sweet porcelain ring bowl? Keep it by the sink. The happy memories will help when you see that your hubby just can't seem to put his plate in the dishwasher...again.
Don't forget to frame and hang that guest book sign. It's sure to perk up any room!
And those rustic planters that decorated each table at your reception? Plant some succulents and move them to the patio.
And last, but certainly not least, keep little bits from your event to save and use later. For example, you can sew bits of your tablecloths or printed cotton napkins into a quilt (precious baby gift, much?) or store the wine corks from your reception in a cool wooden shadow box.
By keeping these little tokens around your house, they will be a constant reminder of the amazing event you planned.
