Our Favorite Things:
- A dynamic wedding party keeping the vibe fun and light
- The absolutely contagious grin on the bride
- Salt & Straw Ice Cream--a local favorite known for its original, decadent flavors
What was most important for you to include in your wedding – what was your biggest priority?
The most important aspect to include in our wedding was to include family in every way possible. Since we both have families, we had to get creative with how to make people feel needed. In the end, everything worked out perfectly and all of the odd jobs we assigned to people actually helped the wedding go more smoothly!
What was your favorite detail?
The flowers! My bouquet and the arch were so beautiful.
What was your wedding theme or style? How did you choose your theme?
I didn't necessarily pick a theme, I just picked the colors and then tried to make it very simple, yet elegant at the same time. I wanted the beauty of the venue to speak for itself so I didn't add a lot of extras.
Five words (or less) that describe the two of you and your wedding:
Bliss barely contained
Your first dance song and why you chose it:
I Cross My Heart by George Straight
The lyrics were similar to what we would have said if we wrote our own vows. Since we didn't do that during our ceremony, this was our way of saying personal vows to each other.
What is your advice to couples who are planning weddings now?
Elope! Just kidding. Make sure you listen to yourself over friends and family. It's your day and you know what will make you happy more than other people's opinions.
