Tyler met Claire on a sunny afternoon in Denver on the patio of Wynkoop Brewery. He was meeting his friends for a beer and his co-worker happened to bring her roommate – Claire – along. They each remember the day a little differently (Tyler thought Claire was sassy and free-spirited, Claire immediately admired Tyler’s fun-loving personality) but neither realized the chance meeting would result in love.
Three years later, Tyler knew he wanted to propose and knew Grand Lake, a place that had become special to the couple throughout their relationship, was the best backdrop. One September morning, ring in hand, Tyler took Claire fly fishing in a favorite stream. As they neared the water, he asked Claire to help assemble his fly rod and pick out a fly, then handed over the fly box where he’d strategically hidden the ring. It took Claire a moment to realize she was looking at an engagement ring and not a fly, but she said yes and the pair set out to plan a rustic, elegant event in the mountains they love.
