Let's start the week off with a fun Southern wedding! Whitney and Collin's wedding is filled with plenty of elegant details to inspire your own wedding planning. Especially the flowers--they are stunning! Thank you to jHenderson Studios for sharing this lovely garden wedding with us, and read below for Whitney's thoughts on her event!

What was your vision for the day?

As far as my vision for the day, I didn't really have one specific theme. I just knew I wanted it to be classy...almost old Hollywood with lots of color and beautiful flowers. Also, Collin was very adamant that he and his groomsmen would be wearing kilts. I wasn't in love with idea at first but it grew on me and by the time the wedding came I knew it was perfect. Collin has a very rich Scottish heritage and he wanted to represent that. I also knew I wanted it to be easy and as stress-free as possible.

Unfortunately, I lacked the time, skill and creativity to do any DIY projects myself but I love the idea of the homemade/DIY touches to weddings so my favorite website was Etsy. I got so many special items from our guest book, flower girl tutu dresses and my garter to our handmade bags of lavender and bird seed for our send off and our wedding party gifts.

The pictures of our loved ones that we've lost were displayed on the mantle and it was very important that we included them in some way to show how special they were to us.

What did you like about your venue?

The moment Collin and I stepped into CJ's Off the Square we knew it was the perfect place for us. They take care of almost everything for you and make sure you have a perfect day and it was. CJ and Amy are amazing.

What was the most meaningful part of your wedding?

The most meaningful part of the day was just having so many friends and family with us. Collin and his family are from Montana and most of his family was able to make it here which meant a lot to us. We also had friends from out of state as well. Also, we are a blended family (Collin has two boys) so being able to include them and share those moments with them was very special to both of us. I surprised Collin with a bagpiper for our recessional. We had agreed that it wasn't an important detail in the beginning but I knew he would love it and he did.

How did you know that Collin was "the one"?

I knew that there was something special about Collin the moment I saw him. I knew on our first date that it was going to turn into something more because I was immediately comfortable being with him. Everything is just so easy between us and we haven't looked back since that first date.

Any advice?

The best advice I can give is to find those great people to work with and find a great photographer like Jenna to capture those perfect moments because later it will seem like one big blur. I would say relax, try to not get too nervous and enjoy every minute of your perfect day because it goes by so fast.
