This down-home BBQ was a way for the two families to get to know each other, as well as give an opportunity to remember Delee's mother, who passed away last year. Clearly, this was a meaningful and fun afternoon that both families enjoyed! Thank you to Powers Photography Studio for sharing this wonderful afternoon with us!

I love rustic décor and a down home Southern Saturday night! We wanted to celebrate in a venue evocative of that feeling. I also wanted guests to be entertained while mingling. We had cornhole, ladder golf, giant Jenga, giant tic tac toe, advice cards for the bride and groom, a thumbprint guest book, and a giant map with “Where y’all from?” and push pins.
I also wanted to celebrate my mother who passed away a year ago. She loved Pepsi, popcorn and ice cream! I just had to send guests home with Delores’ favorites (Pepsi and Poplandia gourmet popcorn). We also had a special memory table set up for my mom with sentimental items in her honor. My father loves bluegrass, so it was important to me to have a live band pickin’ while we ate, played games, and socialized. Jason’s parents created the chalkboard door menu by the entrance to the barn, so planning and setting up really was a family affair!
