I was at Oxford over the weekend for work again! We managed to squeeze out some time to go sightseeing and to soak in the classy Oxford atmosphere and some brilliant sunshine! =) Walking along the streets, we saw a lot of buildings with beautiful architecture! These buildings are part of the Oxford University campus. This is one of the university colleges. The college is an exclusive place for the students, belonging to that college, to eat, live, and play together....
It's the end of Yonggeng's Year 3 exams! So, to reward ourselves... we decided to go eat some good food!! =) And we chanced upon this restaurant, called Ubiquitous Chip!! This indoor restaurant has a very outdoor feel because of all the vines and plants! The roof is made of glass so the warm sunshine provides natural lighting! It's air-conditioned in here so it feels cool even though you feel like you are dining al fresco! =) As it gets dark outside, these lamps light up and...
This post is dedicated to our beloved cell group!! =) Here's why we love our cell group so much... 1) Our cell group members are always so smiley, fun-loving and enthusiastic!! We all love meeting together on Friday nights! =) 2) We have 2 extremely talented bakers -- Elaine and Lynette! They baked this birthday cake for Mel on her birthday!! and they named it the 'Citrus bomb'! hehehhe... it was one of the most delicious cakes I've ever...
This post is specially for you, Eunice!! because i know that if you were here in Glasgow, we would definitely go for this doggie walk together!! =) It was a bright Sunday morning... and my lab mate and I were gearing up for a charity walk! Nopez... it's not one of those walks where you squeeze with hundreds of people to walk from the starting to the finishing line. In this charity walk, the main stars are the dogs! and it's also for these dogs that we're raising money! (The money raised...
So this is a rather random post of the sights and sounds of Glasgow! But these are some snap shots of our life in Glasgow and the little blessings from God that make us love this place - Glasgow! =) One day as I was walking from the bus stop to my lab, something caught my eye! This bright pink flowering plant was almost unreal!! I have never in my entire life seen little pink hearts hanging off a branch!! I later found out that this plant is called Bleeding Heart (scientific name:...
So, I celebrated my birthday a second time in Glasgow! Again with good Italian food! =P Yonggeng brought me to this restaurant called La Parmigiana! (Note: the olives are delicious!!)
Yonggeng had foie gras pate for his appetizer!! It was very nicely done! And I had scallops... ... which were incredibly HUGE!! look! the shell is bigger than the palm of my hand!! and the scallops were so succulent and fleshy!! delicious!!! =) Next, I had seafood risotto, which was...
Thank you everyone for your birthday well wishes and for the presents!! =) Although I didn't manage to celebrate my birthday in Singapore and I didn't have a birthday party, I still had a great time meeting up with everyone, celebrating my birthday early with my family, and receiving loads of blessings and presents from some wonderful friends! One doesn't need a birthday to feel special because any day can be special when you have family and friends who love and care for you! =) Thanks...
We'll be back in Singapore from 29th March to 12th April! See you soon!! =) Anyway, it's spring time in Glasgow and the streets are lined with thousands of bright yellow Daffodils!! =)
Yonggeng turned 24 yesterday!! and we just want to thank everyone who turned up for the surprise birthday party and helped to make Yonggeng's birthday a very memorable one! =) We had the birthday dinner at The Loft, which has both a restaurant and a bar and the atmosphere was pretty good! =) This is Yonggeng's very chocolatey birthday cake, which I ordered from Patisserie Francoise! I think he was very delighted to have such a chocolatey cake!! =) Now Yonggeng is...
Yesterday was Valentine's Day! =) Yonggeng made a reservation at an Italian restaurant called La Riviera! it is such a popular restaurant that we were only given the 5.30-7.30pm slot for dinner! but nevertheless, we wanted to try out the food at this restaurant! When we arrived at the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that all the waiters and chef are true blue Italians! This is really rare in Scotland! We were offered a 3-course Valentine's Day special menu, which...
