Oxford!

I was at Oxford over the weekend for work again! We managed to squeeze out some time to go sightseeing and to soak in the classy Oxford atmosphere and some brilliant sunshine! =)

Walking along the streets, we saw a lot of buildings with beautiful architecture! These buildings are part of the Oxford University campus.

This is one of the university colleges. The college is an exclusive place for the students, belonging to that college, to eat, live, and play together.

The Hertford bridge is a very famous bridge and it is often know as the bridge of sighs, as it bears great resemblance to the bridge of sighs in Venice!

This is the Christ Church college, which is the largest college in Oxford! Many famous people graduated from this college! In fact, Christ Church has produced 13 British Prime Ministers!

This beautiful college is also the setting for Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland!

And this is the famous dining hall where they filmed Harry Potter! Well... it looks more shabby than in the movies... i'm sure they did a lot of touch up and added a lot of CGI for the movie! =P

This is the table for the headmasters! =)

And I was surprised to see a potrait of John Wesley, the founder of Methodist churches, in the Christ Church dining hall!!

Another picture of a beautiful quadrangle of the christ church college! =)

This college is the only college at Oxford that has its own cathedral!

One thing that attracted me most about this college is the humongous garden, with its own little river, where people could row a boat and relax throughout the day! =) So serene!

After all the sightseeing, we decided to treat ourselves to some sushi!!! Wah!! I didn't expect to find sushi on a conveyor belt in Oxford!! Yummy!! =)

To end off, I can't resist but to put up a picture of the equipment at the synchrotron, which we used to shoot our crystals with the high energy X-rays! =)
