Strapless Bridesmaid Dresses for Modern Bridal Parties

Strapless Bridesmaid Dresses for Modern Bridal Parties

We’ve picked some of our favorite strapless options with modern style. And who knows?  They may actually wear it again.

Strapless bridesmaid dresses are some of the most popular neckline styles, no matter what the season( perhaps it is because of their versatility–cool in the summer and adorable when paired with a shrug in the winter).  However, sometimes the most common strapless bridesmaid dresses feel more like prom leftovers than a special gown.

Above, this Shoshanna dress comes from her evening resort collection, and it’s easy to see why. Looking like it would be right at home in a formal destination wedding or one with a nautical theme, it is pretty sensational. We love the high-low hemline and the striped bodice as both are flattering on several body types.

Lately, we’ve seen a lot of bridal parties wearing white and off-white. This monochromatic trend is so gorgeous in photos. This strapless dress below is one of our favorites because it can be worn with or without the sash for two completely different looks.

One of the hottest wedding dress trends for next year is floral print fabric, so we were really excited to see these patterns also extend to bridesmaid dresses. Above, this minty dress drapes beautifully and despite its garden party vibe, would work well even in the winter. Below, floral takes a sophisticated, slightly retro spin with this chocolate-colored embroidery pattern.

Especially during the winter, formal weddings require a dress that you probably aren’t going to have the occasion to wear much again (although always check into alteration possibilities). Especially when your bridesmaids are paying so much for a gown that is just for this event, make sure they look and feel amazing.  These two formal dresses (above and below) are super chic with beautiful silhouettes.

Nude dresses and shoes are a girl’s best friend. Find nude shades that either match or highlight each bridesmaid’s skin tone (the beauty of these neutrals is that they mix and match so well).  Whether the dress is long or short, it will elongate the frame, giving each bridesmaid the appearance of a lengthened silhouette.

The LBD is a wardrobe staple for a reason.  Few outfits can be equal parts va-va-voom and elegant. Especially when tailored well, a strapless and fitted little black dress will make your bridal party look phenomenal as they stand with you.

Of course, a little white dress full of sparkle can do the same. This cute little bubble dress is a great style for younger women.

Can’t decide between white and black?  You don’t have to.  This sweetheart neckline bridesmaid dress with full skirt color blocks so well!  And you can also add another pop of colors with the shoes popping out underneath the slight high-low hemline.
