Honeymoon Destination: Boulder, CO
Voted as one of America’s Top Adventure Towns by NationalGeographic.com, you and your betrothed will find yourselves with little downtime and lots of memories to talk about for the rest of your married lives.
Performing Arts – There’s nothing like adding a little high-class culture to your newly married status by watching a performance by the Boulder Ballet. Located on the C.U. campus, the Boulder Ballet offers classical, contemporary and storytelling ballet performances – something for everyone! To hear some of the most amazing live music (they play for the Boulder Ballet), buy tickets to a performance by the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra. Playing for nearly 53 years, the Boulder Phil has deep roots in the community and supports all the local arts in the area.
Bars and Clubs – For a break from the arts, why not drink in some of Boulder’s nightlife? If you’re both still young and wild, you should definitely steer yourselves towards The Hill. This part of town is next to the CU college campus and boasts great locations such as Hapa Sushi Grill and Sake Bar as well as the Fox Theater. For classier options, go to the Pearl Street area with places like Salt and the Catacombs.
There are limitless outdoor activities to partake in during your honeymoon in Boulder. You can spend months here and still not see and do everything.
Hiking – There are over 300 miles of trails to hike in the Boulder area that range from a mile or less, to hikes that can take days to complete from start to finish. If you’re interested in a hike, you can find trails in nearly all of Boulder’s State Parks or even go on a guided hike with a knowledgeable tour guide.
Biking – If you didn’t bring your own bike, you can always rent one in town. You should decide if you want a road bike or a mountain bike and find a trail suitable for your ability level – the bike shop can tell you where to go. Or, why not get a tandem bike so you and your sweetie can roll around town?
Hot Air Balloon Ride – For the ultimate outdoor adventure and for the best view of the natural beauty that surrounds you, go up, up, and away in a hot air balloon. Call Adventure Balloon Sports to see what specials they are running and to make your reservation.
