Tell me about your vision for the day…

We did quite a few projects ourselves for our big day. The main reason for this was to save money! With the help of my bridemaids, I made the ivory ribbon wands and also the THANK YOU letters to be used as a photo prop. My favorite DIY project we made was the large board used for the place cards!

Did your wedding location hold a specific significance to you?
I knew I wanted something different that a banquet hall or a hotel ballroom, so I liked the uniqueness of the Danada House and I also has my heart set on finding a place with floor to ceiling windows! Also, the church was very important to me because it was where my mom’s funeral was held. Getting married there made me feel closer to her on that day.

What was the most meaningful part of your day?
When I first stepped into my dress and having the bagpiper lead us out of church once we were officially married!

Did anything funny or out of the ordinary happen?
When we arrived to the Danada House after the ceremony by trolley, my cousin thought it was a good idea to dump the extra ‘beverages’ in the fountain outside of the Danada House to save for later! Of course I stopped him before it was too late!

Tell us details of the events surrounding the wedding as well.
Lots of planning, ‘showering’, and stress!

How did you know your partner was ‘the one’?
The night I met Joe I wasn’t particularly ‘out on the prowl. I was just out having a good time with my girl friends. After a few encounters he offered to buy me a drink. My request was a large one (13 shots of patron…one for me and all my girlfriends 🙂 When he came back with a tray of 13 shots of SoCo lime (because he wasn’t going to spend too much money on a girl he just met), I knew he was a great guy to keep me happy and on my toes! Just what I was looking for!
