While roses are always a classic and go-to choice, there are several other options you can choose to make your style more seasonal. Choosing wildflowers for your summer wedding centerpieces can be a lovely way to tie in the season. The colors are very strong and vibrant and the overall look is different from a traditional “posed” centerpiece. If you love deep purples, oranges, yellows and fuschias, this might be a fantastic option for you.
Summer Sunflowers
Chances are, if you are having a summer wedding, you like the warm months and the bright sun — and that should be reflected when it comes to your table decor. A sunflower is a bright yellow flower that screams summer! These lovely flowers can be used in centerpieces with other flowers or standing alone. As you can see from the photo above, adding a piece of burlap around a vase can provide a simple rustic look that really makes a statement.
Elegant Lighting
Lanterns are so in and just speak to the summer months. Add a lantern to your summer wedding centerpieces, surrounded with flowers (or, for a beach theme, sand). The look is very elegant and offers something really unique.

In the summer, you can get away with using more greens in your centerpieces. Looking to stay low-key on the floral decor? Fill out your centerpiece with candles — they’re the perfect way to add aesthetic and create a glowing, ethereal setting.
Pick A Platform
Gone are the days of putting candles on mirrors (which is really a winter thing). Try putting something like a large slice of a tree in the center of your guest tables. Put a couple of small vases with one or two blooms in each and voila! This looks so pretty but is relatively inexpensive.
