If you’re having a summer wedding, your centerpieces and flower choices will speak volumes to the season. Check out some of our favorite summer wedding centerpieces in this slideshow.
Wild Flowers
While roses are always a classic and go-to choice, there are several other options you can choose to make your style more seasonal. Choosing wildflowers for your summer wedding centerpieces can be a lovely way to tie in the season. The colors are very strong and vibrant and the overall look is different from a traditional “posed” centerpiece. If you love deep purples, oranges, yellows and fuschias, this might be a fantastic option for you.
Summer Sunflowers
Chances are, if you are having a summer wedding, you like the warm months and the bright sun — and that should be reflected when it comes to your table decor. A sunflower is a bright yellow flower that screams summer! These lovely flowers can be used in centerpieces with other flowers or standing alone. As you can see from the photo above, adding a piece of burlap around a vase can provide a simple rustic look that really makes a statement.
Elegant Lighting
Lanterns are so in and just speak to the summer months. Add a lantern to your summer wedding centerpieces, surrounded with flowers (or, for a beach theme, sand). The look is very elegant and offers something really unique.
Ocean Inspired
Adding some sort of ocean-inspired element to your centerpieces can be really lovely. We suggest flowers in tones of blues and greens surrounded by seaglass-themed drinking glasses. This centerpiece is both simple and elegant.
Unique Blooms
If you’re having a summer wedding, use the season to your advantage! Try to find unique blooms (like these colorful poppies) that only grow in the summer months. From hydrangeas to peonies, the possibilities here are nearly endless.
Pretty Bird
If you head to a craft store, you may find yourself eyeing rows of decorative bird cages. Using these cages as part of your centerpieces is an awesome idea, especially for a vintage or garden-inspired reception. Just put some flowers around it (or in it!) and you have a super pretty look for your guest tables.
Think Green
In the summer, you can get away with using more greens in your centerpieces. Adding just a couple of blooms, or a giant green leaf, will give you a pop of color, and you can sometimes get more bang for your buck if you fill your summer wedding centerpieces up with greens. There are quite a few leafy varieties that can be quite lovely.
Peony Party
It’s everyone’s favorite summer flower, the peony! These flowers are fragrant and stunning and are nothing short of elegant. Try placing them in a gold or silver box for some additional pizazz. Love, love, love!
Modern Monochromatic
The color white is so crisp and clean. Going for arrangements that are all white is super elegant. You can mix up the flowers using roses, peonies, and lilies, with minimum greenery to make sure they stand out. We also love gold accents like the place setting details shown here. Totally classic.
Branch Out
While you might think that branches are more of a winter wedding statement, you can totally make it work for your summer wedding centerpieces, too. Try a taller branch that has a few blooms or more greenery for the perfect compromise.
Vase No More
Whoever said your centerpieces need to be in a vase has missed this rustic trend. These “home decor” inspired boxes are the perfect place to house your wedding centerpieces.
Billy Ball
These flowers are just too darn cool not to include in your centerpieces! Billy balls look like they’ve come to life from a Dr. Suess book. They also look awesome mixed with other blooms for colorful summer wedding centerpieces.
Get the Glow
Looking to stay low-key on the floral decor? Fill out your centerpiece with candles — they’re the perfect way to add aesthetic and create a glowing, ethereal setting.
Pick A Platform
Gone are the days of putting candles on mirrors (which is really a winter thing). Try putting something like a large slice of a tree in the center of your guest tables. Put a couple of small vases with one or two blooms in each and voila! This looks so pretty but is relatively inexpensive.
Flower Runner
If you want to try something different, why not go for a flower runner? This is essentially a grouping of flowers that runs the length of your guest tables. You can pick some really pretty colors — vibrant or muted — to create a gorgeous look.
